Attorney General warns of tough measures over police misconduct
Bangla Press Desk: Newly appointed Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal has stated that some law officers in the Attorney General’s office are alleged to be involved in illegal currency trading and unethical activities, and action will be taken against them following investigations.
Speaking to reporters on his first day in office as the country’s 18th Attorney General, Kazal emphasised the importance of integrity within the office.The day began at 11:00am with prayers alongside senior lawyers, who also welcomed the new Attorney General with floral tributes.
Among those present were Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Acting Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Milon, former Attorney General Fida M Kamal, senior lawyer and MP Fazlul Rahman, Additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf, and others.
Earlier on Wednesday, the President appointed Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal as the 18th Attorney General of Bangladesh.
