Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Monday placed Enayet Karim Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi-origin United States (US) citizen, on a two-day remand on Monday over alleged suspicious movements in the ministerial zone near Minto Road in the capital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman passed the order after police produced the accused before the court, seeking a 10-day remand.
Earlier, on 13 September, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi ordered him to be sent to jail following his arrest in a car near Minto Road.
According to the case documents, Enayet Karim Chowdhury is accused of engaging in attempts to overthrow the interim government of Bangladesh by acting as an agent of a foreign intelligence agency, aiming to undermine public safety and national sovereignty.
