Bangladeshi couple arrested in Bandarban for running int’l adult website

Bangla Press Desk:  The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a couple from Bandarban on charges of producing and distributing obscene content linked to an international adult website operated from Bangladesh.

CID Special Superintendent of Police Jasim Uddin Khan confirmed the arrests on Monday (October 20) morning.

He said that the couple regularly uploaded pornographic videos to a foreign-based website. Their channel had reportedly risen to the top ranks among the world’s most popular adult sites.

Investigations revealed that the duo filmed, edited, and uploaded videos while residing in Bangladesh, earning substantial amounts of money through the operation.

Under the Pornography Control Act 2012, the production and distribution of pornographic material are criminal offenses in Bangladesh. Officials said the couple not only engaged in such illegal activities but also encouraged others to join, helping expand a growing domestic network of online pornography production.

The issue came to light after an investigative report by The Descent, which first exposed the couple’s activities and their connection to the international adult site.
