Bangladeshi student wins 'Confidence Spark Award' in Malaysia

Bangla Press Desk: Joy Das, a young teacher, writer and educational entrepreneur from Sylhet, has successfully represented Bangladesh on the international leadership stage. He won the prestigious 'Confidence Spark Award' at the Global Leadership Summit 2026 held in Malaysia. At the same time, he received an International Participation Certificate in recognition of his successful participation and leadership skills in the conference.
More than 350 young representatives, students, researchers and various professionals from 14 countries around the world, including Bangladesh, participated in the three-day conference held at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) in Malaysia from July 10 to 12. Important issues such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leadership development, innovation, policymaking and global cooperation were discussed at the conference.
The participants of the conference presented their ideas, plans and innovative initiatives to address contemporary global challenges. As the representative of Bangladesh, Joy Das presented the project titled 'Project PureStep' as the sixth speaker of his team in the 'Expected Impact and Conclusion' phase.
The presentation highlighted the health protection of children, instilling healthy habits, the potential short-term and long-term impacts of the project and its large-scale implementation plan. The project is aligned with the United Nations SDG-3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG-4 (Quality Education) and SDG-17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The conference participants were assessed on their leadership skills, analytical capabilities, presentation quality and innovative thinking by Professor Farah Hanif from Malaysia, Dr. Sarvinder Kaur Sandhu from India, Professor Fatmir Shehu from Albania and Dr. Nazmus Sayadat from Bangladesh. In their evaluation, Joy Das won the ‘Confidence Spark Award’ for constructive participation, effective leadership and quality presentation.
One of the organizers of the conference was Fatiha Ayat, a young leader from Bangladesh. Fatiha, a well-known speaker at the United Nations, Harvard University, Concordia University and TEDx, has been working on youth leadership development and SDG implementation.
Joy Das, a resident of Kanaighat Upazila of Sylhet, is the founder of ‘Learn with Joy’. He is currently studying in the English Department of Leading University. He has been providing English language and IELTS training for more than five years.
