Bangladeshi-origin young engineer Shakib Ali
Chhabed Sathee: Local police have recovered the body of a young Bangladeshi-origin engineer from an apartment building in Marina del Rey, California. The deceased, Shakib Ali (32), was the son of a U.S. Awami League leader and was living alone in the apartment.
The cause of his mysterious death remains unknown, though many are speculating it may have been due to a heart attack. Shakib was the only son of Dr. Muhammad Ali Manik, a well-known physician in Georgia, Atlanta-based Awami League leader, and an official of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA), and Shakira Ali Bacchi.
A reliable source said Dr. Manik and his wife were in regular contact with their son. However, they had been unable to reach him for the past 3–4 days, raising concerns. On Monday morning, they went to his apartment in Marina del Rey, California, where they discovered his body and immediately informed the police. Authorities arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to a hospital for an autopsy.
