The event, titled “We are Women; We Can,” was held at a community hall in La Courneuve, attended by members of the Bangladeshi diaspora from various walks of life. The event also recognised a number of expatriates and institutions for their contributions in different fields. Awardees included journalist Abu Mamun Azad (journalism), Ahsanul Haque Bulu (organising), Firoza Begum, Rubina Begum and Beauty Chowdhury (women entrepreneurship), artist Das and Jayita Barua (music), Prof Badrul Bin Harun (education), Shariful Islam (dance), Ami Voyage, NK Noyon and BCF (social service), Idni Muslim Uddi and Jolly Optics (business), Nusrat Clothes and Zahida Akter (online business), and Moushumi Chakraborty (music).
