BNP focuses on action, rejects mere criticism: Fakhrul

Bangla Press Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has emphasised that the party believes in action rather than criticism and warned against spreading falsehoods or engaging in gossip in politics.

Speaking at a roadshow in Kismat Doulatpur Dakhil Madrasa ground in Nargun Union of Thakurgaon-1 on Wednesday (4 February), Fakhrul said a new party has now entered politics—one that has never been seen before. “We have no objection to others joining elections, but in politics, please do not lie, gossip, or malign others,” he added.

He criticised Jamaat-e-Islami, citing statements from scholars across the country, including Charmonai, that the party is not a genuine Islamic organisation.

Fakhrul condemned claims made by Jamaat that casting a vote for their symbol guarantees entry to heaven, calling it unacceptable to true Muslims.

He also referenced reports that the party’s leader had used obscene language against women, questioning how such a party could perform good deeds.

Fakhrul praised BNP chairman Tarique Rahman, saying he has become like the late President Ziaur Rahman and has a clear plan for the country. The plan includes creating one million jobs within a year, issuing family cards for women, agricultural cards for farmers, waiving crop loans up to Tk10,000, and taking responsibility for NGO loans if BNP comes to power.

He also highlighted BNP-led initiatives in Thakurgaon, including the introduction of maize cultivation through Kazi Farms and irrigation improvements under the Barendra Multipurpose Development Project, which have benefited farmers and created employment.

Fakhrul concluded by urging voters to cast their votes for BNP’s “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol in the upcoming National Parliamentary Election slated for 12 February.Source :daily Sun
