BNP supports teachers’ legitimate demands in principle: Tarique Rahman

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the BNP agrees in principle with the legitimate demands of teachers.

He said that if the BNP gets the opportunity again to run the state through the people’s vote, it will form a high-level commission to enhance the financial security net of teachers or to make their jobs permanent.
He said these things in a video message on social media Facebook on Saturday at around 11:00 am.

Tarique Rahman said, “During the gathering of honorable teachers, many speakers raised the issue of nationalising their jobs. Some also spoke about bringing more educational institutions under MPO enlistment. In addition, there are several other demands from private teachers beyond your organisation. As a responsible political party, the BNP firmly agrees in principle with the legitimate demands of the teachers.”

Tarique Rahman said, “In the assembly of honorable teachers, in the speeches of many, the topic of nationalization of their jobs has come up. Some seem to have also spoken about bringing more educational institutions under MPO enlistment.
In addition, beyond your organization, there are several other demands of private teachers as well. As a responsible political party of the country, the BNP certainly agrees in principle with the just demands of teachers.”

He said, “From your own speeches, it has been revealed that during the times when the BNP was in power, most of these demands were fulfilled at that time. Therefore, we are aware of your demands. No matter how many initiatives we take for state and political reform or for the development of citizens, if we cannot ensure the modernisation of the education system and the socio-economic security and dignity of teachers, then surely we will not achieve the desired results of the goal we are moving toward.”

The BNP Acting Chairman said, “If the BNP gets the opportunity to run the state through the people’s vote, then, Insha’Allah, we will form a high-level commission for positive consideration of increasing the financial security net of teachers, making their jobs permanent, or nationalizing them, according to the capability of the state.”
