BNP to donate Tk1 lakh to families of each Mirpur fire victim

Bangla Press Desk: BNP has said it will donate Tk1 lakh to the families of each of those who died in a fire incident at two buildings in Mirpur’s Shialbari area on Tuesday.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the donation in an address to reporters when visiting the burnt-out site past midnight.

Aminul Haque, BNP’s convener at Dhaka North, would hand over the financial assistance to the affected families on behalf of the party, Rizvi told reporters. During the visit, Aminul Haque accompanied Rizvi.

Furthermore, if elected to power, BNP would also address the inconsistencies in residential area plans, including the establishment of industrial sites.

Around 11am Tuesday, a garment factory and a nearby chemical warehouse caught fire, leaving at least 16 dead as of evening.
