Bobby Hajjaj’s Remarks Draw Condemnation from Khelafat Majlis

Bangla Press Desk:   Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis has strongly reacted to remarks by State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj, who said multiple cases would be filed against the party’s Ameer and 11-party alliance candidate for Dhaka-13, Maulana Mamunul Haque.

In a statement sent to the media on Sunday, the party’s Secretary General, Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmad, warned that what he described as the “result robbery” in Dhaka-13 and Hajjaj’s continued “falsehoods” could eventually lead to the fall of the government.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Hajjaj visited a private hospital in Dhanmondi to see several BNP leaders and activists who were reportedly injured in violent incidents on polling day.

Speaking there, he accused Mamunul Haque of involvement in booth capture and attacks on BNP supporters, and stated that legal action would be taken against him.

In its statement, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis described Hajjaj’s comments as false, fabricated and politically motivated.

The party strongly condemned what it termed a threat to file an attempted murder case, alleging that such remarks were not only an expression of political vendetta but part of a deeper and far-reaching conspiracy aimed at concealing what it called the people’s clear verdict.

Jalaluddin Ahmad claimed that after widespread public support for Mamunul Haque’s rickshaw symbol became evident in Dhaka-13, an influential group implemented a “blueprint” to distort the results.

He alleged that numerous valid votes were declared invalid, result sheets were tampered with and overwritten, and the final outcome was altered in what he termed an open “result robbery”.

The statement further claimed that several television channels had declared Mamunul Haque the winner for around 20 minutes before suddenly broadcasting revised results, raising serious public suspicion.

Despite written complaints to the Election Commission and requests to suspend the results, the gazette was published in haste, it added.

The party also alleged that during what it described as a previous “fascist regime”, false cases, harassment and character assassination had been used against Mamunul Haque, and that similar tactics were now being repeated.

It further claimed that Hajjaj’s alleged close ties to the family of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had long raised questions in the public mind. Source: daily Sun
