Bodies of 7 Bangladeshi expatriates killed in Oman road accident arrive home

Bangla Press Desk: The bodies of seven expatriates from Sandwip in Chattogram, who were killed in a road accident in Oman, have arrived in Bangladesh.
The bodies reached Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport at around 8:15 pm on Saturday (18 October) on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
Sandwip Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mongchingnu Marma and Shah Amanat Airport spokesperson Engineer Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter to the Daily Sun.
The deceased were identified as Amin Majhi, 50; Md Shahabuddin, 28; Md Bablu, 28; Md Rocky, 27; Md Arju, 26; Md Jewel, 28; and Mosharaf Hossain Rony, 26. All of them were expatriate fishermen working in Oman.
Ibrahim Khalil said, “Around 9:20 pm, the airport authorities handed over the bodies to the victims’ families.”
Meanwhile, the upazila administration has arranged a funeral prayer for the seven expatriates at 9:15 am on Sunday at the Purba Sandwip High School field near Enam Nahar Mor.
Earlier, on 8 October, the seven expatriates died when their vehicle collided head-on with another car in the Sidra area of Dhukum province, Oman. This article was originally published on the Daily Sun.
