Bangla Press Desk: A four-member committee has been formed to investigate the recent train accident on the Kalurghat Bridge in Chattogram, where a train collision caused a deadly crash. As an initial measure, four railway staff have been suspended in connection with the incident.
The suspended individuals are: Sohel Rana, the guard of the Parjotok Express train (Headquarters, Chattogram); loco master Golam Rasul (Train No. 530); assistant loco master Amin Ullah (Train No. 723); and temporary gatekeeper (TLR) Mahbub.
The investigation committee has been instructed to submit its report within three days. The committee is led by the Divisional Transportation Officer (DTO) of Chattogram. Other members include the Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Loco), Divisional Engineer-1, and the Divisional Medical Officer of Pahartali, Chattogram.
It is worth mentioning that the accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday night when the Parjotok Express hit several CNG-run auto-rickshaws and motorcycles at the eastern end of the Kalurghat Bridge.
