Body of Bahraini Expat Tareq Reaches Dhaka
Bangla Press Desk: The body of Bangladeshi expatriate SM Tareq, who was killed after debris from a missile fell in Bahrain, arrived in Dhaka on Friday.
The body reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:47pm on a Gulf Air flight (GF-2250).Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Nurul Haque received the body at the airport.
The deceased’s relative, Riaz Uddin, was also present at the time.

Speaking to reporters, Ariful Haque Chowdhury sought prayers for the deceased expatriate SM Tareq.
“As per our regulations, we are providing Tk35,000 for burial and funeral expenses. In addition, a cheque of Tk50,000 has been given to the family, and a further Tk350,000 will be provided. Under his insurance coverage, the family will later receive Tk10 lakh,” he said.
Shama Obaed Islam said six Bangladeshis have so far died amid the conflict in the Middle East.
“The bodies of three have arrived. We will bring back the remaining bodies as soon as possible. We have lost six people, and we do not want to lose anyone else,” she added.
