Bogura-6, Sherpur-3: Nomination deadline ends today
Bangla Press Desk: The deadline for submitting nomination papers for the general election to Sherpur-3 constituency and the by-election to the vacant Bogura-6 constituency ends today (2 March).
Under the schedule issued by the Election Commission (EC), polling for both the Sherpur-3 general election and the Bogura-6 by-election will take place on Thursday, 9 April.According to the official announcement, voters will be able to cast their ballots from 7:30am to 4:30pm in a single, uninterrupted session.
The commission has further specified that the election will be conducted using traditional paper ballots, which are to be dropped into transparent ballot boxes to ensure a visible and fair voting process.
As per the election timetable, 2 March is the final date for filing nomination papers, while scrutiny of the submitted papers by the returning officers will take place on 5 March.
Appeals against the decisions of the returning officers may be filed from 6 March to 10 March, with disposal of appeals scheduled for 11 March.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 14 March, and election symbols will be allotted on 15 March.
Earlier, on 24 February, the Election Commission issued two separate gazette notifications announcing the general election for Sherpur-3 and the by-election for the vacant Bogura-6 seat.Source: daily Sun
