Bogura Set to Become City Corporation as PM Opens It April 20

Bangla Press Desk:  Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to inaugurate the much-anticipated Bogura City Corporation during a day-long official visit to the district on 20 April.

He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several important development projects in the district, according to an official tour schedule signed by his Protocol Officer-1 Md Ujjal Hossain.At around 10:45am, he will formally launch the e-bail bond system at the District and Sessions Judge Court premises. At 11am, he is scheduled to officially declare the inauguration of Bogura City Corporation.

Later, at an event held at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Degree College ground, he will inaugurate the Family Card distribution programme and the excavation work of the Choukir Dah canal at Baghabari Nashipur.

In the afternoon, the prime minister is expected to visit Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Rural Hospital and spend time at the ancestral home of former president Ziaur Rahman.

After offering prayers and taking a short break at the Bogura Circuit House, he will leave for Dhaka at around 4pm.

The visit has generated enthusiasm across the northern district, with local authorities taking comprehensive security measures. Senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office will accompany him during the tour.
