Bridge Authority paints special graffiti on Padma Bridge honouring July Uprising

Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh Bridge Authority is painting a special graffiti at both the Mawa and Janjira ends of the Padma Bridge commemorating the July Uprising Day. Guided by Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, the project aims to preserve the memory of the movement and inspire future generations, said a press release. According to officials, the graffiti combines heroism, self-sacrifice, and democratic ideals into a distinctive historical art form. On 7 August 2025, Bridges Division Secretary and Bangladesh Bridge Authority Executive Director Mohammad Abdur Rouf visited the site to inspect progress.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Director (Administration) Altaf Hossain Sheikh, Chief Engineer Kazi Mohammad Ferdaus, and officials from both the Bridge Authority and Munshiganj district administration. Speaking during the visit, Rouf said, “The spirit of the July Revolution and the sacrifice of the martyrs are the eternal wealth of the nation. This graffiti captures that glorious history through art, uniting history and aesthetics.” The Bangladesh Bridge Authority hopes the project will not only appeal to art enthusiasts but also strengthen national pride by keeping alive the memory of Bangladesh’s liberation and democratic movements.
