Bridge Division secretary inspects Jamuna Bridge and SASEC-2 projects
Bangla Press Desk: The Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, on Thursday inspected the construction progress of the Jamuna Bridge and the SASEC-2 project, also known as the Elenga–Hatikumrul–Rangpur four-lane highway.
During the visit, he reviewed ongoing river training works at the Jamuna Bridge, regular maintenance activities, and the bridge’s structural health monitoring system. He also instructed engineers to further improve the automated electronic toll collection system to reduce commuter inconvenience.
The secretary later visited key sites of the SASEC Road Connectivity Project-2 in Tangail and Sirajganj, including the Hatikumrul Interchange. Stressing the project’s importance for northern Bangladesh’s economic growth, he directed officials and contractors to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining international standards, ensuring safety, environmental protection, and smooth traffic management during construction.
