CA orders swift action to arrest attackers of Osman Hadi
Bangla Press Desk: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has ordered law enforcement agencies to take swift action to identify and arrest those involved in the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, in the capital’s Bijoynagar area.
He ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident, including collecting evidence from the scene, taking statements from eyewitnesses, examining CCTV footage, and determining whether the attack was part of an organised plan.“No form of violence aimed at disrupting the election will be tolerated,” Prof Yunus said. “It is our responsibility to ensure the safety of the people and the unrestricted movement of candidates. Whoever is responsible will be brought to justice.”
The Chief Adviser expressed deep concern over the attack, saying such violence during the election period is completely unacceptable and a regrettable blow to the country’s peaceful political environment.
He also directed the authorities concerned to ensure the highest level of medical care for the injured Osman Hadi and instructed the Ministry of Health to closely monitor his treatment.
He urged all political parties, activists, supporters and citizens to maintain peace and restraint so the upcoming national election can be held in a peaceful, participatory and secure environment.
