Canada envoy launches contest on building tech tools against poll-time cyberbullying
Bangla Press Desk: Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh has officially launched a technological ideation contest with a view to developing digital tools against cyberbullying and disinformation threats during the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh.
The contest is titled “Build4Democracy Hackathon” and Canada is supporting the initiative alongside SecDev and UNDP Bangladesh, according to a facebook post published Monday by the High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh.
At the inaugural event, Ajit Singh delivered a keynote on innovation, ethics and digital resilience, according to the facebook post.
“Hundreds of young technologists, researchers and changemakers are now racing to build tools that make online spaces safer and stronger ahead of the elections,” the post added.
