Child killed as wall collapses during earthquake in Rupganj

Bangla Press Desk:   A one-year-old child was killed and two women were injured when a roadside wall collapsed during Friday morning’s earthquake in Rupganj of Narayanganj.

The deceased, Fatema (1), was the daughter of Abdul Haque of Islamabagh in Ward 5 of Golakandail Union.

According to local residents and eyewitnesses, Fatema’s mother, Kulsum Begum, and neighbour Jasmin Begum were standing near the roadside when the earthquake struck. 

The intense shaking caused an old wall along the Bhulta–Gausia road to collapse on them.
