Chinese Companies Eye $9.21b Investment in Bangladesh
Bangla Press Desk: During a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday in Beijing, heads of eleven China-based companies proposed that they would invest total $9.21 billion in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chairman Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun Chowdhury, who was present in the meeting, disclosed the foreign investment proposals at a press briefing on Saturday.
Foreign investors’ confidence in Bangladesh has surged since the BNP government assumed power, leading to the restoration of political and economic stability in the country, the BIDA chief told reporters.
Bangladeshi officials have successfully highlighted the return of stability in their country before Chinese investors, Ashik Mahmud added. Source: daily Sun
