CJ set to inaugurate Supreme Court Secretariat Thursday

Bangla Press Desk:  Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed will inaugurate the Supreme Court Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at 2:30pm at Administrative Building-4 of the Supreme Court (SC) premises.

Md Shafiqul Islam, public relations officer (PRO) of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, confirmed the matter to BSS on Wednesday.

Earlier, the government issued the Supreme Court Secretariat Ordinance, 2025 with the aim of ensuring full independence of the judiciary. Through this ordinance, the judiciary has been officially separated from the executive branch.

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued the ordinance on 30 November, and the Chief Justice has since been taking various steps in line with its provisions.
