Coach of Dolonchapa Express derails in Dinajpur
Bangla Press Desk: A coach of the Dolonchapa Express train derailed at Setabganj Railway Station in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at around 8:13am as the Panchagarh-to-Santahar bound train was entering platform line No. 1, according to Setabganj Station Master Maznur Rahman.He said two wheels of a coach—identified as coach ‘Ga’—went off the track during entry into the station. Recovery operations are currently underway.
To minimise disruption to passengers, railway authorities have decided to detach the affected coach and allow the rest of the train to continue its journey to Santahar.Dinajpur Station Superintendent ABM Ziaur Rahman confirmed the derailment, adding that train operations on line No. 2 remain normal.
He said other services have not been affected, noting that the Ekota Express departed Panchagarh on schedule earlier in the morning and passed through Thakurgaon, Pirganj, Setabganj and Dinajpur stations en route to Dhaka without any disruption.
