Bangla Press Desk: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen said on Monday that while it is not possible to eradicate corruption entirely, it can be reduced.
He made the remarks while addressing a public hearing organised by the ACC in cooperation with the Joypurhat district administration at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the morning.
"If we are sincere with one another, corruption will gradually decrease," he said.
He pointed out that corruption was at the root of several high-profile individuals fleeing the country, including a former prime minister, a former chief justice, the governor of Bangladesh Bank, and the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram Mosque. “We need to investigate not only the officials and employees among us, but you may even inquire about me if necessary,” he added.
