Covered van kills police constable on Khilgaon flyover

Bangla Press Desk:  A police constable died after a covered van hit him on the Khilgaon flyover in the capital late Wednesday night.

The victim, Rubel, 40, served as a nayek in the Bangladesh Police. The accident occurred around 11:45pm on Wednesday, and he died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, Khilgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said Rubel was returning home on a motorcycle after finishing duty near the Police Headquarters when a covered van ran him over on the flyover.

"Police seized the covered van after the accident, but the driver fled the scene. Law enforcement agencies have launched a drive to arrest the driver," he added.
