CUB Secures 3rd Best Memorial, 8th Place at Jessup 2026

Bangla Press Desk:  The Department of Law of the Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) clinched an honourable 8th position overall and ranked 3rd in memorial writing at the 10th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Bangladesh National Round 2026), held from 22 to 24 January 2026 at American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB).

The Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition is the world’s largest international law moot, simulating disputes between states before the International Court of Justice. The 2026 Bangladesh National Round marked a historic milestone, with 48 teams from renowned public and private universities participating, making Bangladesh the first South Asian country to host such a large field in the Jessup Competition. The event drew top law schools from across the country, turning the national round into a high-stakes arena of advocacy, research, and legal craftsmanship.

Representing CUB this year was the Canadian University of Bangladesh Law Department Jessup Team, consisting of five brilliant minds: Asef Ibnul, Hasibul Haque Mazumder, Jannatunnesa Jeba, Pabon Das, and Karnig Fatema Himu. Competing under the banner of the Department of Law, CUB, the team delivered a flawless performance in the Preliminary Rounds, winning all four of their sessions and qualifying for the Quarterfinals as one of the Top 8 teams nationwide. In the Advanced Rounds, they fought with distinction and concluded their campaign at the quarterfinal stage.
