Bangla Press Desk: The government has extended the ongoing curfew in Gopalganj to maintain law and order in the district following Wednesday’s violent clashes that left four people dead.
The curfew will be extended from 6pm on Thursday to 11am on Friday and after that, it will be relaxed for three hours until 2pm, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a brief statement.
Later, the curfew will continue until further notice, it said.
The district town of Gopalganj turned into a battleground on Wednesday as activists of the Awami League and its associate bodies clashed with security forces after attacking a rally organised by the National Citizen Party (NCP), leaving at least four people dead and scores wounded.
