Dengue claims one life, 169 hospitalised in 24hrs
  Bangla Press Desk: One death and 169 fresh cases were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a handout on Saturday. With the updated data, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 29 and the number of confirmed cases to 5,739 this year, according to the DGHS. The DGHS said the lone fatality took place in Chattogram Division. Besides, Barishal Division alone reported 101 new cases, Chattogram Division (outside city corporations) recorded 28 cases, Dhaka (outside city corporations) reported five, while 19 cases were detected in Dhaka South and 16 in Dhaka North City Corporations.
Currently, 633 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country as of today. Last year, dengue claimed a total of 575 lives. According to the DGHS, there were 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries in the same year.
