Dense fog causes flight delays at Dhaka Airport
Bangla Press Desk: Flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka experienced minor disruptions on Sunday morning due to dense fog compounded by the biting winter cold, the airport authorities confirmed.
Reduced visibility caused delays in the departure and arrival of several domestic and international flights, they said.
According to sources at the airport, schedules for certain flights were adjusted to ensure safety, resulting in passengers on both domestic and international routes having to wait longer than expected.
However, no flights were diverted to other airports as visibility, though low, did not fall to critical levels.
As the day progressed, the fog began to clear and flight operations returned to normal. Authorities added that the weather has stabilised and airlines are providing necessary assistance to passengers affected by the delays.
