Efforts under way to bring back two arrested in Hadi murder case: IGP
Bangla Press Desk: Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir has said that diplomatic efforts are under way to bring back two suspects arrested in India in connection with the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, former spokesperson of the Inqilab Moncho.
He made the remarks at a press conference held at the media centre of Police Headquarters on Monday.
The IGP said that diplomatic channels were being used to repatriate the two suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of Osman Hadi. “They will be brought back to the country soon,” he added.
Emphasising the police force’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Fakir said that no political affiliation would be considered when taking action against extortionists.
He also noted that lists of extortionists and drug traffickers had already been prepared, adding that every police station would be turned into a “zero-complaint centre”.
The IGP further said that no member of the police force would be allowed to act in an overzealous manner, while urging the public to comply with the law.
He warned that no leniency would be shown if any banned organisation was found involved in unlawful activities. Source: daily Sun
