Bangla Press Desk: Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin has expressed his willingness to stay aside from his current responsibilities, and there is no question of his removal, said Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Wednesday.
“He (Jashim) wants to quit this responsibility on various grounds. He will remain in the government service, shifting his role, but there is no issue of his dismissal,” Adviser Touhid told reporters during a media interaction at his secretariat office in Dhaka this afternoon.
The adviser further noted that the foreign secretary is expected to leave his current post within the next couple of days and his (Jashim) role is being changed at the behest of his own request, he said.
Responding to a query about the appointment of a new Foreign Secretary, Touhid said, “You will come to know within a few days.”
