Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered former vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, to be sent to jail over graft allegations related to a special development project at the university.
Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court passed the order after a hearing.
During the hearing, Anti-Corruption Commission Prosecutor Delwar Jahan Rumi pleaded for Kalimullah's detention.
On the other hand, Advocate Mohsin Reza and others argued for his bail. They also requested that he be given division facilities in jail in case of bail plea rejection.
