Former Jatrabari OC remanded again
Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Monday granted a three-day remand to Abul Hasan, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, in connection with the murder of Imran Hasan during the July uprising last year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ismail passed the order after police produced the accused before the court, seeking a five-day remand.
According to the case statement, student Imran Hasan took part in the student-mass uprising in the Jatrabari Police Station area on 5 August last year.
He was shot in the afternoon and taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead in the evening.
A murder case was filed with Jatrabari Police Station on 1 September 2024 over the incident.
Earlier on 17 September 2024, Abul Hasan was arrested from the Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Since then, he has been in jail and face remand in connection with multiple cases filed over the July uprising.
