Four ministries get new secretaries

Bangla Press Desk:   The government has issued a major reshuffle at the top bureaucratic level, appointing new secretaries to four key ministries.

Among them, three additional secretaries were promoted and assigned to three different ministries, while one existing secretary was newly appointed.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Sunday (2 November), confirming the appointments.

Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury, formerly Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, has been elevated to the rank of Secretary and assigned to lead the Ministry of Shipping.

Bilkis Jahan Rimi, Additional Secretary attached to the Finance Division, has been promoted and appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

In another significant move, Mohammad Showkat Rashid Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives.

SM Shakil Akhter, previously Secretary attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, has been transferred to serve as Secretary of the Planning Division.
