Gazette on mosque management policy to be issued this month: Khalid

Bangla Press Desk: Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain Wednesday said that the mosque management policies are being modernised for better, time befitting and disciplined administration and the gazette in this regard will be published this month.

"Mosque is the heart of the Muslim society and steps are being taken to update the mosque management policy to ensure effective and disciplined administration," he said.

The Adviser was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled “Mosque Management Policy 2025” organised by the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque here.

He noted that the policy will be finalised with the opinions of all stakeholders, particularly top Islamic scholars. 

A draft has been prepared by a designated committee and the final version will ensure the optimum interests of imams and muezzins.

Earlier, Islamic Foundation Secretary Shaikh Murshidul Islam presented the draft of the revised Mosque Management Policy 2025.

Director General of the Islamic Foundation Abdus Salam Khan presided over the workshop which was also addressed by Religious Affairs Secretary Md Kamal Uddin as special guest.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, Principal of Ta’mirul Millat Kamil Madrasah Khalilur Rahman Madani, Chairman of Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation Mufti Shamim Majumder and leaders from the Bangladesh National Imam Association, among others ventilated their opinions.

They placed constructive suggestions to make the policy  as time befitting  and effective one.

More than fifty prominent Islamic scholars from across the country took part in the workshop.
