Gold prices rise again in Bangladesh

Bangla Press Desk:   Gold prices in the local market have increased once again, with the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) announcing a rise of up to Tk3,266 per bhori.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the price of 22-carat gold—the highest quality—has been set at Tk244,711 per bhori, up from Tk241,445 the previous day. The new rates came into effect from 10:00am.BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to an increase in the price of pure gold in the international market.

Under the revised structure, 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk233,572 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk200,213. Gold produced through the traditional method has been fixed at Tk163,063 per bhori.Silver prices have also been revised upward. The price of 22-carat silver now stands at Tk5,715 per bhori, while 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional silver are priced at Tk5,424, Tk4,666 and Tk3,499 respectively.

Market analysts attribute the continued upward trend to volatility in the global market, driven in part by ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
