Govt appoints new DCs in 15 districts
Bangla Press Desk: The government has reshuffled the top administrative posts in 15 districts across the country, appointing new Deputy Commissioners (DCs).
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification in this regard late Saturday night (8 November).
The districts getting new DCs are: Noakhali, Habiganj, Gazipur, Dhaka, Gaibandha, Barguna, Bogura, Sirajganj, Magura, Pirojpur, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Khulna, Kushtia and Bhola.
As part of the reshuffle, Bagerhat DC Ahmed Kamrul Hasan has been transferred to Noakhali. Kushtia DC Abu Hasanat Mohammad Arefin has been posted to Habiganj, while Bhola DC Md Azad Jahan will take charge in Gazipur. Barguna DC Mohammad Shafiul Alam has been moved to Dhaka, Sirajganj DC Muhammad Nazrul Islam to Gaibandha, and Khulna DC Md Tawfiqur Rahman to Bogura.
In addition, several officials from different offices and ministries have been given district administration responsibilities. CEO of Sylhet Zila Parishad Sandeep Kumar Singha has been appointed as the new DC of Barguna. BADC Secretary (Deputy Secretary) Md Aminul Islam will serve in Sirajganj, and Personal Secretary to the Commerce Adviser Md Abdullah Al Mahmud has been posted to Magura.
Deputy Secretary of the Home Ministry Abu Sayeed is the new DC of Pirojpur. Zonal Settlement Officer of the Land Record and Survey Department in Pabna, Afroza Akhter, will serve in Satkhira. Feni Local Government Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) Golam Md Baten has been appointed as DC of Bagerhat.
S. M. Jamshed Khondakar, Personal Secretary to the Special Assistant of the Chief Adviser (Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Ministry), has been posted to Khulna. Rajuk Director Md Iqbal Hossain will serve as the DC of Kushtia, while Cabinet Division Deputy Secretary Dr Shamim Rahman has been appointed DC of Bhola.
