Govt launches free wifi internet pilot project at three train services
Bangla Press Desk: The government has launched a pilot scheme to assess the effectiveness of free wifi internet services at three intercity trains, said a statement issued Saturday.
The pilot scheme was launched with the use of Starlink satellite internet service at three trains -- Parjatak Express, Banalata Express and Upaban Express -- on Friday, said the statement released by the Bangladesh Satellite Company Ltd (BSCL).Gradually the services will be extended to other popular trains, said sources at the Bangladesh Railway.
Earlier, Fakir Mahbub Anam, minister for post, telecommunication and ICT, said the government would launch free wifi internet services at all the airports and railway stations of the country.
On Wednesday, Rehan Asif Asad, the prime minister's adviser to the ministry, inspected preparatory works under the pilot scheme..Source: daily Sun
