Bangla Press Desk: The government has asked the authorities concerned of all Bangladeshi diplomatic missions, embassies, high commissions, consulates, diplomats’ offices and residences abroad to remove portraits of President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the special directive on Saturday through phone calls made separately to the embassies, according to a source of the ministry.
Until now, portraits of Shahabuddin were displayed in Bangladesh’s embassies, high commissions, and diplomats’ residences abroad and the foreign ministry has ordered the immediate removal of these portraits.
To oversee the process, one ambassador has been assigned for each region, who will ensure that the president’s portraits are taken down from all missions.
