Govt runs 386 mobile courts to curb fuel oil hoarding

Bangla Press Desk:    A total of 386 mobile courts were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours to prevent illegal hoarding of fuel oil and ensure a smooth supply system.

During the drives, 214 cases were filed and fines amounting to Tk 962,500 were realised, according to a press release of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources issued in Dhaka on Monday.

Meanwhile, three people were sentenced to six months’ imprisonment in Nilphamari district.

The release said such drives will continue to ensure uninterrupted fuel oil supply and prevent irregularities.

It added that executive magistrates are regularly conducting mobile courts in different parts of the country, including Dhaka.

People have been requested to contact the designated vigilance team numbers if any irregularities or suspicious activities are noticed.
