Govt to take responsibility for Hadi's wife, child: CA
Bangla Press Desk: Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has said the government will take responsibility for the wife and only child of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, who passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital.
The chief adviser made the announcement while addressing the nation.
He also expressed profound shock and sorrow at the untimely demise of Hadi and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, relatives and colleagues.
One of the leaders of the July Uprising, Hadi was shot and critically injured on Box Culvert Road in the capital’s Paltan area on 12 December.
He sustained bullet injuries to the head and was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he underwent surgery, before being transferred to Evercare Hospital later that night.
He was admitted to Singapore General Hospital on Monday after being flown to Singapore by air ambulance.
Hadi was also a prospective independent candidate for the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-8 constituency.
