Hajj expenses may drop in 2027 as govt plans cost cuts
Bangla Press Desk: Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) on Tuesday said initiatives will be taken to reduce the cost of the Hajj package for 2027 considering the overall situation and the needs and facilities of the pilgrims.
The Minister said this in parliament in reply to a starred tabled question placed by treasury bench member Lutfur Rahman (Cox’s Bazar-3).
He said the Hajj operations for 2026 have reached the final stage following the announcement of the Hajj package.
According to the package, various expenses for both Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh phases have already been paid.
Kaikobad added that all activities, including visa processing, have been completed in line with the Saudi timeline and Hajj flights will begin from April 18.
