Hero Alom granted bail in attempted murder case

Bangla Press Desk:   A Dhaka court on Saturday granted bail to content creator Ashraful Alam, also known as Hero Alam, in a case filed with Hatirjheel police station by his former wife over attempted murder, assault, and intimidation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rakibul Hasan granted bail on a Tk200 bond.

Earlier in the day, around 4pm, police produced him before the court after arresting him earlier in the day. The arrest came after the issuance of a warrant on 12 November by another Dhaka court.

According to the case documents, Hero Alom divorced his wife, Riya Moni, and drove her out of the house following a dispute.

Later on 21 June, Riya Moni and her family were invited to a house in the Hatirjheel area to reach a settlement with the accused, where the accused, along with 10 to 12 unidentified persons, verbally abused them using obscene language.

Subsequently, the accused, Hero Alom, along with 10–12 others, unlawfully entered the plaintiff’s current residence and attacked her with sticks with the intent to kill.

At that time, the assailants also stole a gold chain weighing about 2.5 bhori from the plaintiff’s neck. On 23 June, Riya Moni filed a case with Hatirjheel Police Station following the incident.
