Imam will be a Moroccan star after the World Cup
Bangla Press Desk: Professional players often find themselves coaching or commentating after retirement. But Moroccan star footballer Nousair Mazraoui has a completely different plan.
The Moroccan defender wants to see himself in the world of religious education after retirement—as a Hafez of the Quran and an imam.
Mazraoui is currently an important member of Manchester United and the Moroccan national team. He is only 28 years old. This is considered the best time of a career for a defender. Yet he is thinking about retirement at this time.
In a recent interview, Mazraoui said that he is likely to step down from professional football after the 2026 World Cup. Because, in the next chapter of his life, he wants to devote time to religious education and spiritual development. According to Mazraoui, football has given him a lot. Fame, money, success—he has received it all. But when he thought about the real purpose of life, he realized that he needed more time for spiritual practice.
Mazraoui said, "I can decide to retire after the World Cup. Life is too short. I want to memorize the Quran. I also want to become an imam in a mosque in the future.’ The Moroccan star said that one of his biggest dreams is to memorize the entire Quran. Not only that, he also wants to acquire religious knowledge in the future and serve as an imam. Source: daily Sun
