India pushes 16 people into Bangladesh

  Bangla Press Desk: Indian Border Security Force on Wednesday pushed 16 individuals into Bangladesh through Kanaighat border in the district, security and law enforcement officials said. Border Guard Bangladesh members detained the 16 people as they were pushed in through the northeastern frontier. ‘We have detained them . . . interrogating to confirm their national identity,’ BGB-19 Commander Lieutenant Colonel M Jubair Anwar told reporters. Kanaighat police station’s officer-in-charge Abdul Alam later said eight of the 16 people were males, six were females and the rest two were infants.
