Bangla Press Desk: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has canceled her planned visits to five Asian countries, including Bangladesh. Due to her engagement in ongoing discussions regarding the Ukraine war, Meloni has temporarily called off her Asian tour.
This information came on Thursday (21 August) from a reliable source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the invitation of Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus the Italian Prime Minister was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on a two-day visit on 30 August. Meloni was also expected to bring her daughter along on this trip.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, preparations in Dhaka for Meloni’s visit were nearly complete. A meeting between the Italian Prime Minister and the Chief Adviser had been scheduled for 31 August.
