IUB signs MoU with Nepal’s Far Western Univ to enhance academic exchange
  Bangla Press Desk: Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Far Western University (FWU) of Nepal, aiming to strengthen academic cooperation and facilitate joint initiatives in research, education, and student engagement. The five-year MoU was signed on the FWU campus in Nepal on 25 June, says a press release. IUB Vice Chancellor Prof M Tamim and FWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hem Raj Pant signed the MoU on behalf of their respective universities. Other IUB representatives at the signing ceremony were School of Pharmacy and Public Health Dean Dr Kamran ul Baset, and Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Management Prof Dr Md Hafizur Rahman.
Representing FWU were Registrar Prof Dr Binod Lekhak, Engineering Faculty Dean Prof Dr Kishan Datta Bhatta, Humanities and Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Dr Rajendra Prasad Bhatt, Executive Council Member Associate Prof Harikrishna Kadayet, Secretary to the Vice Chancellor Assistant Prof Prakash Pant, Admin Staff Members Meen Raj Bhatt and Nabin Bahadur Bam. The agreement outlines a broad framework for collaboration, including student mobility programmes as well as exchanges between the faculties and staff members. It also opens up opportunities for joint supervision of postgraduate research, co-hosting of academic events, and co-publication of scholarly works. The two institutions have also agreed to publicise each other’s academic programmes and explore cultural exchanges to foster mutual understanding.
