Jamaat ameer undergoes successful bypass surgery, moved to ICU

Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has undergone successful heart bypass surgery and is currently in stable condition. He has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for close monitoring. The information was confirmed by Dr Khaliduzzaman, the party-assigned physician overseeing the Jamaat Ameer’s medical care. He stated that the surgery was carried out at United Hospital in the capital on Saturday, commencing at 8:00am and concluding by 12:00 noon. Dr Shafiqur Rahman was subsequently transferred to the ICU, where he remains under observation by the medical team.

Earlier in the day, the party leader underwent surgery conducted by renowned cardiologist Dr Jahangir Kabir and his team. The operation lasted until noon, after which the party held an impromptu press briefing at around 12:30pm. Speaking at the press conference, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdullah Mohammad Taher said, “Dr Shafiqur Rahman’s heart bypass surgery has been successfully completed.
