Bangla Press desk : Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has apologised in advance for possible traffic congestion and public suffering in the capital centring its national rally, slated to be held at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday.The rally is aimed at pressing home the party’s seven-point demand, which includes reforming the PR system, ensuring justice for the July massacre, and creating a level playing field ahead of the election.
Speaking to reporters on Friday after inspecting the rally venue, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said hundreds of thousands of people are expected to enter the capital to join the event, which may cause temporary public inconvenience.
“We seek cooperation from all, especially city dwellers. On behalf of our Ameer, I would like to apologise in advance to the residents of Dhaka and the country for any trouble caused,” he said.
