Jamaat to get deputy speaker post as main opposition party: Home Minister

Bangla Press Desk:   Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said the government has verbally and formally offered the post of Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad to the main opposition party, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, in keeping with the spirit of the July National Charter.“Respecting the July Charter, the government has proposed that the opposition party select its candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker,” he told reporters after a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Monday (2 March).Source: daily Sun
